Below we will explain a few things if you are interested in a puppy from us.
It all starts with carefully selecting a suitable male, and we do not limit our search to the Netherlands alone. We spend a lot of time looking for a suitable male for our bitch. We are members of the Dutch Dachshund Club and breed according to the Association Breeding Regulations of this association.
Interest
We think it is very important that our puppies go to the right future owners. That is why we would like you to come visit us, as a future owner. During an introduction we discuss, among other things, the family situation, in a family or just with the boss? What is the living situation like? Do you already have experience with dogs or do you also have another dog at home? But just as we place expectations on you, you may also have certain expectations of us. We just think it's important that there is a good feeling on both sides.
A waiting list?
With us, it is not the case that whoever registers first also has first choice. We therefore do not use numbering on our list. Whether we can ultimately offer everyone a puppy depends on several factors. You can consider, among other things, the number of puppies born or the choice for a male or female.
During pregnancy and birth
During the pregnancy we post as many photos as possible of the pregnant mother on our website and social media. When the puppies are born and the mother dog and her puppies are doing well, we will let you know. We will take a few more days, because we first want to be sure that all puppies drink and grow well during the first few days.
The first weeks
The following applies to us in the maternity room for the first three weeks: rest, cleanliness and regularity. During this period we do not receive visitors, but we keep our puppy buyers informed and regularly share photos or videos on social media and this website. After this period, our puppy buyers are welcome to visit us and the puppies.
Socialization
Our puppies are raised in a home environment and will therefore experience all normal household activities. After the first weeks of rest, depending on the weather, they go outside a lot for 4 to 5 weeks. Here the puppies can play with each other and discover new things. From about seven weeks of age, the puppies meet other dogs, the car, the park, the Milliger lake and we do everything we can to ensure that socialization is as optimal as possible. A lot of contact with people, both young and old, is very important. To ensure proper socialization, we recommend that future owners take a puppy course.
Optimal match
We strive for an optimal 'match' between dog and future owner. From birth, we work day and night with our puppies. In all those weeks we get a very good idea of the characters at this young age.
Thanks to our experience, we can provide good advice on which puppy suits someone best. Of course, we also take the previously stated wishes into account. It is therefore important for puppy buyers not to focus on one particular puppy during visits, but to be open to several dogs. We always call it "a puzzle that we put together together". Around the eighth week a puppy can leave the nest and a busy but very fun time begins for the new puppy owners.
A puppy from us:
Our puppies are bred according to the guidelines of the Board of Directors and the breed association, receive an FCI Pedigree and EU pet passport, are dewormed several times, are vaccinated and chipped, and are checked by a veterinarian. We work with a purchase agreement and the puppy comes with you in a nice puppy package.
Of course we will always be available if you have any questions.
